Dozens of Boats Provide a Festive Holiday Evening at the “Toys & Joys of Christmas” Parade & Fireworks

Dozens of boats with lights & holiday decorations will parade along the waterfront Saturday, December 12, 2009 starting at 6:00pm with the fireworks spectacular following the parade.

A holiday tradition since 1988, this year’s parade will include boats from far and wide. Commodores from around the bay are sending a boat to represent their club. The parade route will begin at 6:00 pm just off the foot of Harbor Drive proceeding south past the Spinnaker into the cove at Gabrielson Park to pass in review of the judges at the Sausalito Yacht Club, out around the ferry landing passing the Inn Above Tide, Angelino, Scoma’s, and Horizon’s to the south end of town off the Valhalla and returning along the waterfront.

“The Sausalito Yacht Club and the Sausalito-on-the-Waterfront Foundation are organizing the twenty-first lighted annual boat parade and fireworks, and it just keeps growing. Combined with the many waterfront businesses and the hillside homes decorated for the season, Sausalito becomes a spectacular sight to enjoy.

The holidays are a special time for all and we are proud to continue providing a beautiful and spectacular evening that will be appreciated by all who live in and visit Sausalito.

Spectators can get a great view from the walkway along the waterfront, Gabrielson Park, Yee Tok Chee Park and the ferry landing. Restaurants along the waterfront will also offer a fantastic vantage point, fun and holiday cheer.
